Established in 1905, the Buccaneer School Shoes legacy of quality, hand-crafted leather shoes has been passed down through generations. From humble beginnings in Wellington in the Western Cape, Buccaneer School Shoes have grown to be one of South Africa’s most trusted brands.
We created the Dolly shoe, our most popular style, in 1905. It is, we believe, the oldest school shoe in South Africa. Today the Dolly is still our signature school shoe for girls.
In 1990 we designed the Scooter for boys. Like the Dolly, the Scooter is now our signature school shoe for boys.
Technological advancements, including the development of increasingly light-weight and durable material, prompted us to design Bucc Lites, for boys and girls, in 2002.
Then in 2007 we developed the Buccaneer Classic, an entry-level shoe that is affordable and therefore kinder to parents’ pockets.
