Buccaneer School Shoes

Our Community Investment

The community has been at the heart of our social and development initiatives since we moved to Cape Town in 1991. Our commitment to the Cape community and the upliftment thereof can be seen through our support and involvement in various activities.

Comfy Original Quality

We recently manufactured and donated 175 pairs of steel toe capped workers boots to The Salvation Army for distribution to those in need.

Buccaneer School Shoes director, Paul Issa, says he hopes the boots will help men who are looking for work in demanding environments such as construction sites or manufacturing factories.

“A man cannot go to work on a construction site in a pair of ancient canvas takkies with holes in them! It is simply not safe and certainly not comfortable on a wet winter’s day. These boots are just a small way for us to hopefully help a few people feel better and earn better – starting from their toes.” – Paul Issa

Other organisations we regularly support include Val de Vie Foundation, Hope, Put Foot Foundation, The Family Reunion Centre, WD Hendricks Care, Blind SA, Institute for the Blind, SOS Children Village, The Salvation Army, Western Province Care, WECCA, NSRI, Reach4Hope and Operation Shoebox.

We also source the majority of our raw materials from local suppliers. This means that every time you buy a pair of Buccaneer shoes, you are supporting the South African economy and helping to create employment.
